Galleon "LA PEPA" at Barcelona





Seen here yesterday at Barcelona is the Spanish Galleon "LA PEPA". The ship is a replica of the most Universal Spanish Ships for more than three centuries, they formed the so-called "INDIES FLEET" which sailed from Seville to North America, Panama and Mexico, from where they linked with the Pacific Ocean. "LA PEPA" was built between 2008 and 2010, the ship is 49.40 meters in length  and is 589 GRT. "LA PEPA" has already sailed more than 25.000 miles having received over 600.000 visitors. Tall ship "RUTH" at Liverpool





the 1914 built "RUTH" was at Liverpool yesterday, the vessel was built in Sweden and named after owner's Sven Petter Persson's wife, Ruth. She is a gaff-rigged sailing ship, today "RUTH" is based at Penzance in Cornwall and is family-run for charter business. Photos taken on the 5th April 2012
